Privacy policy
Updated 5 November 2026
This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Argus website (arguscollections.vip) and the Argus app (arguscollections.com), why we collect it, who we share it with and the rights you have. Argus is in a private trial, and this policy covers the trial.
1. Who we are
Argus is provided by Emerging Services Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17434346) whose registered office is at 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA. We are the controller of the personal information described here, except where section 6 says otherwise.
Write to us about anything in this policy at privacy@arguscollections.com.
2. On this website
The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.
Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps short-lived server logs of requests, including your IP address and browser, to run and protect the site.
If you send us an introduction request, we receive what you put in the form: your name, email address, your role, the size of your collection, who introduced you and your note. It reaches us by email and is not stored in a database. We use it only to reply to you, and delete it within 12 months if nothing comes of it.
3. In the app: what we hold
- Your account: your name, email address, a phone number if you give one, your role in each collection, when you signed in and were last active, the passkeys you register (their public keys only) and your app lock settings.
- Your agreements: which version of the trial agreements you accepted, when, and the IP address and browser you accepted them from.
- Collection records: the cars and their details, photographs, documents, service and inspection records, where each car is kept, keys, values, insurance details, requests, notes and the preferences of people a collection drives.
- An activity log of who did what in a collection, including who revealed a code or looked at where a car is kept. It records that something changed, never the values themselves.
- Feedback you send us from inside the app, and the questions you ask Ask Argus with its answers and the records it cited.
4. Why we use it, and on what basis
- To provide Argus to you and the people in your collection, under our agreement with you.
- To keep Argus secure, prevent misuse, keep the activity log and fix problems, because we have a legitimate interest in running a secure service and you would expect us to.
- To improve Argus from the feedback you give us during the trial, also a legitimate interest. We do not quote anyone by name without asking.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping records we are required to keep or answering a lawful request.
We do not sell, share or pool your information. We do not advertise, and we do not use your collection's records to build market data or to train AI models.
5. Who processes it for us
These providers process information on our behalf, under contracts that allow them to use it only to provide their service to us.
- Supabase: the database, file storage and sign-in. Your app data is hosted in London.
- Vercel: hosts and runs the website and the app. The app's servers run in London.
- Anthropic: reads documents you scan, answers Ask Argus questions, looks up a car's specification, finds a maker's manual and estimates market values, including the web searches those features make. Only what the task needs is sent, the searches are about the car rather than about you, and Anthropic's terms do not allow it to train its models on what we send.
- MapTiler: the maps. It sees the area being viewed and your device's IP address, not the collection's records.
- Resend: sends email, such as invitations, sign-in links and reminders.
- SensorPush: only if your collection connects its sensors, for the readings from those sensors.
6. Records about other people
A collection's records belong to the collection. When an owner or manager adds information about other people, such as staff, drivers, guests or passengers, we process it on the collection's behalf. If you add someone, make sure they know Argus holds it.
7. Where it is stored, and transfers
Your app data is stored in London. Vercel, Anthropic and Resend are based in the United States and may process information there; MapTiler is based in Switzerland. Where information leaves the UK, we rely on the UK's adequacy regulations or on the safeguards in those providers' data processing terms, such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How we protect it
- Encryption in transit and at rest.
- Every collection is kept apart from every other in the database itself, and that separation is tested.
- Policy numbers and access codes stay hidden until someone with the right to see them asks, and every reveal is logged.
- Photographs that leave a collection, through a share link, an insurer or sale pack or a transfer to a new owner, have their location and camera details removed first.
- Passkey sign-in, and a lock on the app after a period away.
9. How long we keep it
- Your account and your collection's records: while they are in use.
- If you leave the trial or ask us to delete your data: deleted within 30 days, except copies in backups, which are overwritten as the backups roll over, and anything the law requires us to keep.
- The record of the agreements you accepted: six years after your account closes, as evidence of what was agreed.
- Introduction requests: up to 12 months.
10. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to have it in a portable format. Write to privacy@arguscollections.com and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
11. Cookies and storage in the app
The app uses cookies only to keep you signed in and secure. It keeps a few preferences on your device, such as your theme and whether figures are hidden. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.
12. Children
Argus is not for anyone under 18.
13. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as Argus changes, and the date at the top will show when. If a change matters to you, we will tell you in the app.
